Chapter Notes

Dallas Alumni Day at the Ball Park - June 7, 2008

Dallas Alumni were treated to the hospitality of Dave Pels, A’76, L’79 as they watched the Texas Rangers square off against the Tampa Bay Rays on June 7, 2008 in the Shannon, Gracey, Ratliff & Miller, L.L.P., Suite. The event titled, “Dallas Alumni Chapter Day at the Ballpark,” is quickly becoming an annual favorite of the Dallas chapter alumni. Chapter President Summer Bosch was on hand to update the chapter on future events and raised over $150.00 that was donated to the Annual Fund in the name of the Dallas Alumni Chapter. Over 40 alumni, parents, and friends attended.

Dallas Crawfish Boil – April 5, 2008

On Saturday, April 5, the Dallas Alumni Chapter gathered at Dodie’s Seafood Café II to participate in the Annual Dallas Alumni Chapter Crawfish Boil. Dallas Alums were treated to the hospitality of Dodie’s owner Jeff Neri, wonderful crawfish, and red beans and rice. Dallas chapter president Summer Bosch played host to the largest Dallas crawfish boil to date, 54 alumni, parents, and friends. We can’t wait to double that number next year!

On April 23, Loyola Board of Trustee member Joseph Mahoney, A’76, his wife Mary Lou, A’76 and daughter Maureen, A’05 welcomed alumni, admitted students and parents into their home for the Dallas Alumni and Admitted Student Reception. The Rev. Kevin Wm. Wildes, S.J., Ph.D., University President, and Dr. Marcia “Cissy” Petty, Vice President of Student Affair and Associate Provost were special university guests. Admitted students and their parents were given a glimpse in the spirit and community that is Loyola University New Orleans. A special thanks to our gracious hosts Joseph and Mary Lou Mahoney.
