Dear Dallas Chapter Alumni,
Happy New Year and best wishes for 2008!
It is my goal, as current chapter president, for the chapter to serve as a resource for each of its members, the university, as a tool for networking and a means to keep in touch with friends both old and new. While recently reviewing the database, I have found a number of missing email addresses, phone numbers, and preferred means of contact. There is also a major lack of occupational data. I am writing to implore your assistance with updating your contact information for the compilation of a new 2008 Dallas Alumni Chapter Directory.
This new tool will be extremely helpful to me when planning events and I frequently receive requests from upcoming Loyola graduates who will reside in the Dallas area for industry specific career contacts so they can ask questions and receive feedback from established alumni. I can also recall numerous conversations with chapter members at events requesting contact information for Dallas alums or more importantly updated contact information. Currently, there is no document that contains this information and with five minutes of your time, we can fill this void.
Enclosed you will find a paper copy and a website link to the survey questions we would like for you to answer. Please choose either the online or the paper format to update your information. The survey focuses on the following four areas:
- Updating your contact information, preferred method of contact, and authorizing its use in the directory
- Occupational information, interest in acting as an internship resource to current students and/or mentor to recent Loyola graduates
- Interest in having admissions information sent your son or daughter
- Interest in joining one of the three chapter committees, with a commitment to attend one to two meetings per year
- Wolves on the Prowl Committee
- Social Committee
- Fundraising Committee
Once the information is received and compiled, we will send a free copy of the directory to all participants. It is up to each alum as to how much information they want released to the chapter directory. This is truly a start in the right direction to address some of the issues we have been having as a chapter. Thank you for taking a few minutes out of your day to assist the Dallas Chapter.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact David Robinson-Morris, the new Associate Director for the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations, and the Alumni Office’s Dallas Chapter contact or me. David can be reached by phone at 504-861-5419 or by email at dwrobin@loyno.edu.
Sincerely,
