Alumna Wins American Political Science Association Award  

Dr. Mirya Holman '04 was recently awarded the Clarence Stone Scholar Award by the American Political Science Association for her research regarding gender in urban politics. 

Dr. Holman received her B.A. in Political Science with a minor in history from Loyola in 2004. After, she received her M.A. in Public Policy in 2006 then her Ph.D. in American Politics and Public Policy from Claremont Graduate University in 2010. She now teaches several Political Science course at Tulane University where she continues researching gender and political ambition.

According to the American Political Science Association, the award recognizes two scholars making a significant contribution in the study of urban politics. With over 12,000 members across the world, the APSA brings together political scientists from all fields of practice.
