Alumni Success: Samie Asmel '10

Samie Asmel '10 graduated from Loyola’s Music Industry Studies (Music Performance track) program. While at Loyola, she played trumpet in Loyola’s music ensembles, including the Loyola Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Loyola Jazz Band, and Trumpet Ensemble.  Samie’s involvement also included the founding of Loyola’s Brass Society.

Currently, Samie is working at Amazon Studios as a Music Contract Manager. In this role, she manages the licensing and negotiating of the studio’s worldwide music licensing agreements for Amazon Prime Video. Prior to Samie's role at Amazon, she was with Universal Music Publishing Group for 6 years, where she represented North American audio licensing rights on behalf of major artists/songwriters, producers, catalogs, and digital media platforms.

When asked about her experience at Loyola, Samie says, "It was never lost on me how lucky I was to be part of Loyola's tight knit community. By some cosmic force, I crossed paths with memorable teachers and friends that made lasting impacts on how I approach my work and live my life. There's a very special energy that you can only find in New Orleans. I absolutely felt that synergy woven into my everyday interactions at Loyola."
