Loyola Link: Linking Students with Alumni for Career Networking

Think back to your Loyola days...what resources were available to you as you began to prepare for graduation?  Would you have appreciated the opportunity to speak with an alumnus or alumna to get resume tips or networking advice? Current students have put this on their wish list.

The Alumni Association has partnered with the Career Development Center to create the Loyola Link program.

"Communications & Public Relations" - Thursday, March 22, 2018
The Communications & Public Relations session is for alumni able to share advice with students interested in pursuing careers in Communications or Public Relations including:  print media, advertising, marketing, journalism, television, radio, social media.

Loyola Link allows current students to connect with alumni based on specific career interest virtually via a phone call. Students have the opportunity to practice networking and alumni are able to share valuable career advice with students, all this can take place during a lunch hour.

How it works:

  • Choose the session that you want to participate in based on the theme.

  • Please fill out the survey to participate in this virtual event.

  • Mark your calendar for the entire 1.5 hour period.  All sessions will take place between 12:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. (Central Time).

  • You will be matched with a student based on corresponding career interest.

  • A week prior to the session you will receive an email with the confirmed date and time for your call along with the student's contact information.

  • Your matched student will call at the designated time for a 15-20 minute phone call. During the call you can provide resume feedback and give the student the opportunity to practice networking.
