Loyola Named Among Top 20 Colleges by Princeton Review

Five “Top 20” Rankings, Excellent Academics, Quality of Life, and a Diverse and Inclusive Culture

Loyola University New Orleans is one of the nation’s best institutions for undergraduate education, is one of the most culturally inclusive, and has some of the nation’s happiest students. It also has one of the nation’s best college newspapers, according to The Princeton Review. The education services company features the school in the new 2018 edition of its annual college guide, The Best 382 Colleges, which goes on sale tomorrow and will be online in September. The Princeton Review awards Loyola New Orleans five “Top 20” rankings, including No. 11 in the nation for “lots of race-class interaction” and No. 5 for “Best College Newspaper, as well as a score of 93 out of 100 for “Quality of Life,” a measure of how happy students are with their lives outside the classroom.

The Best 382 Colleges: 2018 Edition (Penguin Random House / Princeton Review Books, $24.99)—goes on sale tomorrow, August 1, 2017. The flagship college guide ― produced through surveys and interviews with students ― includes profiles for all the universities and colleges included in the guide. Only about 15 percent of the nation’s more than 2,500 4-year universities and colleges and only two colleges outside the U.S. made this year’s list. The Best 382 Colleges: 2018 Edition includes 62 “Top 20” national ranking lists as determined through interviews with students about their opinions of and experiences at their school.

According to a Princeton Review survey that asked 137,000 students at 382 top colleges to rate their schools on dozens of topics of interest to applicants (and to their parents footing the bill), Loyola University New Orleans was singled out in “Top 20” rankings five times:

· Best College Newspaper No. 5

· Best Quality of Life No. 18

· Lots of Race/Class Interaction No. 11

· College City Gets High Marks No. 16

· Town-Gown Relations Are Great No. 12

Loyola University is honored as being among The Best 382 Colleges and Best Southeastern Universities in the nation. The Princeton Review also spotlights Loyola’s academic rigor and emphasis on leadership and service.
