Reflection on Alumni Weekend 2017

Alumni Weekend 2017 was a wonderful success! On behalf of the Alumni Association and the Office of Alumni Engagement we want to begin by thanking all of the alumni who helped make it a special weekend.  Over the last year, the staff in the Office of Alumni Engagement have worked with hundreds of alumni volunteers to help plan activities that took place last weekend.  We want to especially thank all of the reunion committee volunteers who contacted their classmates to encourage them to join us for Alumni Weekend, without their help reunions would not happen!

There were many highlights from the weekend, from the sounds of laughter during the Cocktail Seminar, to the spirited debate during Alumni College sessions on Saturday, to the rambunctious and spirited group from the Class of 1967 at the Golden Wolves Dinner, to the beautiful Jazz Brunch on Sunday. For me, a personal highlight of the weekend was listening to Dr. Jorge Echenique’s acceptance remarks during the Adjutor Hominum presentation. Dr. Echenique encouraged all alumni to “take the time to do the extra thing because you’ll receive much in return."  This statement summarizes so much about the way in which our staff approaches Alumni Weekend.  We hope that those who attended the event found that we took the time to make sure that alumni knew how excited we were to welcome them back to campus.

We hope you enjoy the pictures from the weekend and please take a moment to complete the survey. Even if you were not able to attend this year the information that you share on the survey can help us plan future Alumni Weekend activities.
