Volunteer Opportunities
Becoming active in the Alumni Association as a volunteer is a selfless way to give back to the University and a way to reconnect with fellow alumni as well as students. Volunteers make up our Boards, Chapters, and Committees. Join other alumni who are working to improve their communities’ volunteer network and see how you can help make a positive difference for Loyola.
Volunteer activities within the structure provide an excellent vehicle if you are interested in developing your leadership skills. However, the most important benefit will be the wonderful feeling of sharing with the university family some of the skills derived from the Loyola experience. It is this desire to give time and energy that defines a volunteer.
Board Service
Serving on aboard is a great way for you to participate in the vision and planning of the Alumni Association. The organization can use your professional skills and experiences. While it is a longer time commitment because terms are for two years, the actual volunteer time varies per month.

Committee Service
The real backbone of the Alumni Association continues to be the strong committee network and hundreds of volunteers planning activities and conducting the work of the Association. You will find plenty of ways to get involved. Whether you take a leadership position or feel more comfortable in a supporting roll, your volunteer time and commitment are greatly needed and appreciated!
Chapter Service
The Alumni Association has 24 active chapters around the country and in Puerto Rico. If there is not a chapter in your home town, consider starting one. Chapter volunteers are Alumni Association’s foot soldiers faced with the challenge of planning and executing activities, which will establish the connection between peers and the University.
Event Service
From set-up to breakdown, manning registration and ensuring hospitality, volunteers are always needed to help execute local and chapter events. Shifts can be assigned and in some instances, complimentary attendance is allowed after completion of shifts. Link.
Law Alumni Service
Continuing Legal Education Instructor
Loyola Law School Alumni can serve their fellow alumni by serving as an Institute for Continuing Legal Education instructor. The Institute works to keep practitioners abreast of new legal developments and improve lawyer understanding of ethical and professional responsibilities.
Skills Curriculum Instructor
Loyola Law School Alumni, who are practicing attorneys and judges, can volunteer to teach practical lawyering skills to current students. Skills Curriculum courses are completed in a mini-course format consisting of one to five class meetings. The workshops are designed to provide an overview of specific areas of the law and to introduce basic hands-on training to all Loyola law students.
