Spring Crawfish Boils
Crawfish boils are a huge favorite among alumni, family and friends at Loyola University New Orleans. The crawfish season starts in early spring and continues into the summer months. Each year the Alumni Association welcomes the newest class of alumni with a huge crawfish boil the day before graduation. The Annual Senior Crawfish Boil, hosted by the Alumni Association, is the official kick-off to Commencement Weekend. Alumni, parents, faculty, staff, friends, family and current students can join in the festivities. The cost to attend is just $25/person; students and children are just $10/person and graduating seniors are free. This annual tradition is co-sponsored by the Offices of the President, Finance & Accounting, Enrollment Management, Mission & Ministry, Academic Affairs, and Student Affairs. Online registration will open in April. View Senior Crawfish Boil photo gallery.
You don’t have to be in New Orleans to enjoy crawfish season. Several chapter cities across the U.S. know a thing or two about this Cajun crustacean and they celebrate with their own chapter crawfish boils. Chapter Crawfish boils are hosted at various times throughout the spring. If you are interested in helping to plan an alumni crawfish boil in your area please contact Laurie Leiva, Assistant Director of Alumni Relations at firstname.lastname@example.org or 504-861-5419.
